For art and DT this term we have been looking at the work of William Morris, we have used his work as inspiration for our own Victorian cross stitch samples. We had to create our own cross stitch patterns on paper and then transfer these onto the material, one stitch at a time. Here are some examples of our amazing work.
During ‘Science Week’ we helped to solve the crime of the stolen biscuits, we visited the crime scene (which you can see below) and thought carefully about what evidence we might need to collect to solve the crime, as you can see the protective clothing stopped us from contaminating the crime scene.
We also had to take our own finger prints to rule ourselves out as potential suspects and dusted items from the crime scene to enable us to lift of the finger prints and identify the culprit.
During the final week of the spring term, we completed ‘Come Dine With Me’ our topic week based on healthy eating, we designed our own food menus after completing work on what constitutes a healthy and balanced meal. We then used a variety of cooking techniques to make our own bread and cottage pie. I’m sure you’ll agree they look very tasty!
