We are all looking forward to the school journey next week. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us!
This letter contains essential information regarding the school journey, including important insurance information.
Please arrive at school at 7.00a.m. promptly on Monday 12th March and assemble in the hall. The coach will leave at 7.30 a.m. and we will start boarding the coach at 7.20a.m.
Your child will need a packed lunch for Monday 12th March (in a named plastic bag for easy disposal). As usual, no sweets or chocolate please or glass bottles/cans. Some children are allergic to nuts without even eating them, where exposure, touching or even smelling nuts can cause a strong reaction. As always, I would therefore ask that parents please ensure that packed lunches do not contain nut products (this would include peanut butter and Nutella).
One suitcase/holdall clearly labelled – label enclosed. All contents to be labelled please and clothing checklist to be provided for repacking.
Pocket money (£15 max) in a named wallet/purse to be handed to your child’s group leader on arrival at school on Monday morning. It would be helpful if the money was in change (50p coins, 20p coins).
Clearly labelled medication with written instructions (in the original packaging please) to be handed to the group leader in the school hall on the Monday morning. Children must carry their own reliever asthma medication from home; preventer inhalers must be handed to group leaders. The reliever asthma pumps and epipens held at school will be taken as a back-up. Your child will not be able to go on school journey if the appropriate medication is not provided.
If your child suffers from travel sickness, please ensure they take any medication required before they come into school on Monday and give any travel sickness medication to the group leader in the hall on Monday morning, clearly labelled, for the return journey.
If you wish, pack a stamped addressed envelope and paper or card, so your child can write to you. If you want to write to your child during the week, the address is:-
Name of child
Jubilee School Party, PGL Little Canada Centre, New Road,
Wooton, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 4JP
You may also hand to your child’s group leader a card or note you have already written and he/she will give it to your child mid-week.
It is very important that parents are at the school to collect their child on Friday 16th March at 6.30 p.m. (approximately). As I am sure you will appreciate, no child should be left waiting for their
parents after five days away. As we are travelling at a busy time, traffic could be heavy and there may be a delay. Should there be any significant alteration to this time, a notice will be posted on the school gate and the website updated, or you may receive a text.
Please help us by stressing to your child the importance of good behaviour and following Jubilee’s Seven Steps to Shine throughout the school journey.
No electronic games or mobile telephones are to be taken. Also, no toys or any form of game.
Please ensure you pack several plastic carrier bags for dirty washing for your child; in addition, spare shoes and adequate waterproof clothing are essential.
The Little Canada Centre has asked me to stress the importance of taking soap and towels, toothbrush and toothpaste as they are not provided by the centre (refer to attached list of requirements).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Please refer to PGL’s website www.pgl.co.uk/insurance to read and understand the Key Facts and Insurance Policy for details of their insurance cover. The school has school journey insurance cover with Zurich Municipal and details are available from the school office.
