Welcome to the Summer Term in Rio Class!
After a wonderful, busy Easter holiday (by the sound of it!) Rio class have settled straight back into school life. We are all loving talking about our amazing key workers, or should I say 'the people who help us' as much as possible and this is helping all children with their valuable communication and language skills.
We will be looking at different jobs that people do across our community, and talking in a way that means all children know that all jobs are for all people.
We will be making the most of our amazing outdoor learning environment and encouraging the children to really build on their gross motor skills that, in time will contribute to their hand eye coordination, and therefor their handwriting!
Let's get ready for a amazing half term of learning Rio Class!

Captain Tom 100
Today we had a blast getting involved in the Captain Tom 100 challenge. We marched on the spot 100 times, clapped 100 times and took 100 big steps. A huge effort from Rio class for a wonderful cause!

Welcome to Spring Term In Rio Class

Autumn 2, Rio Class Update!
Well didn't that half term fly past! Blink and you missed it! Rio Class have been so busy, learning and having fun! We are exceptionally proud of how our amazing children have coped with the strange times of this year, and this half term has been so exception! From the safety measures in school, remote learning for some and different procedures in the classroom - we couldn't be any prouder! You have earned the Christmas Holidays children, you have worked so hard and made brilliant progress with your learning!
In English we have continued with our book based learning and have looked at books including 'Julian is a Mermaid' by Jessica Love, and 'The Tiger who came to Tea' by J.Kerr.
In Maths we have been counting beyond 20, and looking at 2 groups of objects to see which has the most/least. We have also started to look at the properties of 2D shapes! Busy, busy, busy!
We have spent the whole of December singing Christmas songs (safely!) taking part in Christmas craft and generally having a fabulous time! And its time for a lovely holiday... you deserve it Rio Class!
Have a wonderful Christmas and lets hope that 2021 is happy, healthy and lots of fun for us all!

Welcome to Rio Class!
It is very lovely to finally meet you all properly. And what a wonderful start to the school year we have had! So much fun, laughter and learning! We have doing lots of book based learning, as well think about out topic 'Me, myself and I'.
I'm so proud of how well the children have adapted to all of our new and sometimes strange routines - A LOT of hand washing, keeping our friends safe and lunch in the classrooms to name but a few. What an amazing bunch of children you have sent to us!
We will continue to ensure the children remain settled, and happy by providing a fun filled, nurturing environment.
Here's to a wonderful first year at Jubilee School!
