As our first full term is ending we once again have the most positive and great news to share about Rio class! Each and every member of the class has made wonderful progress and make the teachers proud ever single day! In phonics, we have almost finished all of the set 1 sounds and most children are blending words together when reading in a group or independently! This is fantastic!
In English - our focus on writing and the correct pencil grip has really started to pay off. Writing has improved across the whole class, as well as cutting skills and the use of other small handed tools. Keep it up Rio Class!
Our learning journey in maths has gone from strength to strength with all children trying so hard to count beyond 10. We have also been representing numbers, and finding one more and one less!
All of the EYFS staff would like to wish Rio class and their families a wonderful Christmas. We cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store for you all xxx
Our Learning Progress...
What a fun first term we have all had in Rio class!
We have been taking part in lots of activities and learning so much through stories and books! We have been on a bear hunt and made bear mask! we have been writing lists and have been perfecting the writing of our names! We have been counting beyond 10 and focusing on recognising numerals in our learning and in the world around us.
We have settled into our new classroom and are starting to follow the class rules and routines well.
We have been thinking about Black History month, and know about many legendary historical figures such as Rosa Parks, Bob Marley and Martin Luther King jr. We have discussed what makes us unique and what makes us special.
For our special 80s day at school we danced, sang and looked at toys and fashion from the decade. We have so much fun!
We are so proud of all of the children in Rio class - have an excellent break and a well deserved rest!
