Our new history based topic is "Jubilee" this term to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We will focus on historical changes that have occurred since 1952 including how technology has evolved. Our science topic is "Humans including Animals." We will learn about our bones and muscles as well as the importance of cleaning our teeth twice a day. With links to DT, we will learn about the five food groups and the importance of eating a balanced healthy diet.
In PE, we have been learning tag rugby.
In English, we have been using instruments to make music for our book, The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton.
In Computing, we were learning to be Opinion Pollsters. We designed a survey by thinking about the types of question we wanted to ask and different ways to answer them.
Spring 2
Our new geography based topic is "Saving Planet Earth" has continued this term. We are learning map skills, increasing our knowledge of our planet. Our science topic is "Plants." We have been observing different plants that we have grown, learnt the parts of a plant and the conditions they need to grow strong and healthy. Easter is on the way. I wish you all a fun holiday and stay safe.
In PE, we have been learning cricket.
In science, we have been learning about plants, rocks and soil. We also has a visit from some chicks.
In music, we have been making train music about our class book. We are now starting to learn the recorder.
Spring 1
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great Christmas break. Our new geography based topic is "Saving Planet Earth." We will be learning about all the damage that has happened to our planet and how we can all play our part in helping save our planet. Our science topic is "Rocks and Soils." I'm looking forward to a new term and all the exciting learning that will take place.
In PE, we have been playing adventurous and orienteering games, learning to work as a team.
In English, we danced to whale music.
Autumn 2
I hope you have all had a great Autumn 2. We have had great fun with our learning. I especially loved our English book "Odd Dog Out!" Christmas is now upon us. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
In PE we have been outside on the playground practising our team building skills and ball skills using a variety of balls and activities.
In English, we have been writing our own books based on "Odd Dog Out!"
In History, we have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians. As part of our learning on mummification, we wrapped ourselves up in paper to look like mummies.
Autumn 1
Welcome back to Jubilee! I'm so pleased to see you all back at school and am looking forward to teaching you throughout this new school year with our new class of year 3/4 children. There are many new exciting things happening this year and I am sure we will all work well together as a team to achieve our aspirations. In PE we have been learning gymnastics. We have learnt different balances, making symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes on the floor and on the equipment.
In Science we have been learning about Light and Shadow. We drew around our own shadows at different times of the day to see how it changes.
In English, we did some drama about the characters in our story "The Firework Maker's Daughter."
